Super machismo Christopher Meloni is sinking his teeth into a new role. The former "Law & Order: SVU" star has joined the cast of "True Blood," confirmed network reports.
Meloni recently ended a 12-year run on "SVU," where he played Detective Elliot Stabler.
According to sources, the actor will be a True Blood series regular, playing an "ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands." We should all be so lucky!
It was reported earlier this month that he was being eyed for a "major role" in the show's fifth season.

This new role is Meloni’s return to HBO - he previously starred as inmate Chris Keller on the network's prison drama "Oz." Christopher's introduction to Oz drew immediate notice and critical applause into the show's second season. Chris' raw animal magnetism was unparalleled on the show and his steamy, erotic couplings with another male prisoner on screen promoted him swiftly to gay icon status.
So do you think Chris will make a good vampire? How many of you want his teeth to pierce your skin?
